We just wanted to provide you with an update after a busy summer on our upcoming World Championships, which is due to conclude in just under a year from now in Bude. If this year’s surf conditions at the beginning of October are any indication, we will see all sorts of conditions during the 10 day window from absolutely pumping 20 second period double overhead beasts, through perfect offshore head high+ walls, to some much smaller but super fun glassy days on some really nice banks. Fingers crossed!

First of all, we want to launch our tournament poster, which has been created beautifully by Caroline Woolward. You will start to see this image around the place (particularly if you live in North Cornwall!) and it highlights some of the landmarks in our town, and also recognises our sponsors and supporters. Over the coming months we will be telling you a little more about our sponsors and supporters, which reflect the level of support our event has around the town – including Bott Ltd., the largest commercial employer in Bude and our Championship sponsor. 

Next, we wanted to let everyone know about some early opportunities to surf at one of the contest Sites, Black Rock. Following a great deal of uncertainty about international travel and also domestic anti-COVID event requirements Shoreline Extreme Sports have decided to run their annual Black Rock surfkayak festival over the weekend of 27/28 November. More details of this event can be found here.  

If you are unable to attend this event and you’d like to take an early look at Bude, there are also plans to run this event during the Spring of 2022. More details as soon as we get them.
